Anna Hazare . who . the reason .. Govt . lies . dictates . exploits .. The People

by vssdeo

The sounds of political carousal are being heard now. The desperation is spoken by the PM himself, who looks much better when he is quite. It seems that the sounds of guilt are hard to put by, especially when the voice within whispers the truth; however loud you try to false it with a lie.

Against what ? one might wonder ?

A 74 year old man who’s relative non existence without a house, a family or savings seems to be confronting the identities of those in New Delhi. The wolf is being painted but the colors refuse to hold; for somehow the nation follows the man & identifies with him. He is Anna Hazare [1]

The only survivor of the Khem Karan assault during the 1965 Indo-Pakistan war would find his purpose as a ‘rebirth’ in words of none other than Swami Vivekanand & take a pledge to serve the people as his sole purpose.

Putting his vow into action he would transform & bring his village Relagan Siddhi on the world stage which would be focus of study & admiration [1]. The example would set the bar high against any accomplishments by the Government Of India so far, apart from its “having a the study done” of the work done by him. The Study, without a learning.

He again would champion another course for 10 years and lay the foundation for the Right to Information act dusting many white hats by this very act; which gives the citizens Right to Information with regard to their governance. The act would become instrumental in removing the white painted masks from the political faces. An impeccable record for anyone in the Indian political stage to even grasp. In fact on the contrary the current Govt of India would mingle words to allege this man for corruption; a man without any assets, only to reveal its shallow character [4]. Anyways for a political setup which had once questioned the former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri, the gem among the rusted, only to find a life time balance of approx Rs 365 or $8 would silence them.

The fear is evident, what RTI act has done, the Janlokpal [2] will double that. Not many words need to be borrowed in here, but basic intelligence, a bit of human though & primary reading and writing skills; would be enough to clarify the need of a Janlokpal as ombudsman bill in form of a separate independent entity, free from the shadows of the executive which controls every existing investigating agency. The investigative agency today is well placed under the smelly armpits of the executive itself, which it has resisted to be separated out since last 40 years with reasons that any capable mind would find hard to understand [A1]; on the other hand often exploited the same agencies as a side kick [A2]. After all it was Indira Gandhi, the leader of Congress party & former PM of India herself who quoted corruption as a “global phenomenon”; the dynasty would follow the words.

Constitution is being pointed, conditions are being magnified and a man is being denied to express & protest peacefully. The government dictates the laughable conditions of protest, where it states the venue, duration & the number of people who can protest. In the end the government accuses that single soul to be dictating. Some one is in need of a mirror in here.

The unceasing barking of Congress by people like Chidambaram, Kapil Sibbal & Pranab Mukharjee irritates the nation. Sometimes I feel if we had dogs instead of a few around, it would have been better; for they would have eaten less, barked when required & remained loyal to their masters, the people. So much for so less.

The reasons given are from changing the structure of the Indian Constitution to running an parallel independent entity are being put in bold. Some `Congressi Netas` have even pulled Dr Ambedakar into the drama iterating that it would offend the spirit of his.

Lets get this straight. The Constitution is not a divine entity and even if it was divine it had to be alterable to serve the changes of the mortal world. If the structure or the text of this man made rules of conduct is failing its people, then it has already lost its purpose & in the current political context its rather protecting the ones it shouldn’t and not the common. If it hurts the spirit of anyone living or dead, then perhaps the spirit is not enlightened enough.

Having lost its sense either the Govt of India or Delhi Police, for its still not  very clear, in between pointed fingers, who initiated the orders; the 70 plus year old is arrested and put in the same jail which holds India’s most corrupt people like the former telecom minister A Raja & the infamous Suresh Kalmadi. It was rightly tweeted by Anupam Kher on twitter that “It took 9 months for the govt to arrest Kalmadi, 4 yrs to arrest Raja n Kanimozi but 3 mins to arrest Anna”. If that was not the end the judicial custody is arrogantly pushed to 7 days.

Amidst all this it was refreshing to see the people on the streets with voices challenging the noise from top. Ready to go to jails many turned up to be detained. The parliament was echoed by opposition, though explicitly stating that they didn’t agree with the Janlokpal all together. As its said “Every one washes hands in running waters”, the opposition did take their piece but did the a good work confronting the government [3]. The reminder by Arun Jaitley in the parliament to PM: “Sir, power is not immortal. The more it gets into ur head, the sooner it disappears” would be remembered.

The weak does succumb and so did the government, the PM spoke as a proof that he could talk. The character of the Congress & the government became visible touching the lowest of what could be reached [4].

After this too, there are many who try to judge & question the events by their `wisdom` that appears only on dining tables while sipping coffee or chai; or like the two whom I overheard saying during lunch “Nothing will happen, they will kill him eventually”. What amazes is that “We are still asleep & still conscious of it”.

There are others who pull up the act as the challenge to democracy & the constitutional setup comparing it to holding the nation at ransom. I wonder if the difference is still invisible. The nation I think is not even capable of being held at ransom, for the loot by those who have governed it have left nothing to be paid. In here comes an old man who is sacrificing himself to a demographic which is youngest on the planet. To me his singled out spirit is the last thing that could be termed “young & alive” in this sleepy & ignorant nation whose ego arises only when the momentum gains in the right direction.

In the mist, may be everyone has something to hold on, but the nation only looks to its people, to be build by their very character and to move in the steps they take. The bar is already set high. India for that matter is one where the grandeur of the past has overshadowed our future. It will remain up to up to us, to match and beyond what the past had once drawn for us. Too many good men have gone by to make us realize, for a  start with that one insignificant step.
